History of the fireback: Originally our ancestors had their fires in the centre of the room and more recently fires were moved against a wall which created the need for firebacks to protect the wall and to radiate the heat back into the room.
Installing your Fireback
Firebacks are very heavy so please seek help when moving them. Very large firebacks will require 2-3 people to move safely.
Your fireback can be just lent against the back wall - they not only add dimension to your fireplace but also help radiate heat back into the room.
